The American Revolution, what is the American Revolution? American, one who lives in America, Revolution, a fundamental change in political organization or the activity or movement designed to effect fundamental changes in the socioeconomic situation. This definition helps the understanding of the American Revolution.

This Revolution included the American colonies and the British. During the late 1700s this Revolution began to take form. The American colonies took a stand to over power the British government and their unreasonable acts. The colonies were forced to deal with taxes on papers, land titles, playing card, newspapers, sugars and so on. Other Acts enabled trade with certain countries, which created an even greater expense for the people. The people could not fight these taxes because they did not have direct representation; instead they had virtual representation which enabled them to have a direct say on acts.

These unfair acts and taxes were the beginning of what later arose into a whole Revolution. The unreasonable amount of taxation on most common good started up a whole chain of smuggling from America to Europe and back. Even with the smuggling the taxes were to strong and later became impossible to deal with when the British government enabled trade from some major harbors.

In conclusion the British government brought this rebellion upon themselves by over taxing the people and enabling them to trade freely. This all led up to the American Revolution.
